???? Why Promix Uses Different Board Materials — and How That Shapes Product Value
At Promix, we design and manufacture a wide range of public seating and educational furniture — from classroom desks and chairs to auditorium and lecture hall seating.
One key reason our products come in different price ranges is the smart use of board materials. Each material has its own characteristics and best-fit applications.
Here’s a quick overview of the main boards we use ????
???? Particle Board
Made from wood chips and adhesive under high pressure.
✅ Cost-effective, flat surface, suitable for melamine or fireproof lamination
⚠️ Moderate strength, lower moisture resistance, weaker screw-holding power
???? Common in economical desk tops, modest training tables, and cabinet panels.
???? MDF – Medium Density Fiberboard
Pressed from fine wood fibers.
✅ Smooth, fine surface ideal for painting or veneer
⚠️ Moisture-sensitive, moderate screw-holding strength
???? Used for decorative desk panels, partitions, and office furniture components.
???? Melamine Faced Board
Base board (particle board or MDF) laminated with melamine paper under heat and pressure.
✅ Durable surface, water-resistant, easy to clean, color options available
⚠️ Edge sealing required; performance depends on the core board
???? Widely used for desk tops, meeting tables, and training furniture.
???? Plywood / Laminated Plywood
Made by hot-pressing multiple layers of veneer with alternating grain directions.
✅ Strong, stable, moisture-resistant, excellent screw retention
⚠️ Higher cost; surface usually laminated for better finish
???? Common in auditorium chair backrests, lecture hall desks, and high-end classroom furniture.
???? In short: Different materials mean different strengths, looks, and costs — allowing Promix to provide flexible options that fit diverse project needs, from economic school models to premium auditorium seating systems.
